One of ten divisions, CHEIS gathers, analyzes and disseminates health and environmental data, provides birth and death certificates, administers the medical marijuana registry, and manages HIPAA  compliance for the Department. 

CHEIS includes the health statistics section, vital records and data management, the Colorado medical marijuana registry and geographic information systems.
