Employers Affected by Disaster

On September 14, the President issued a Major Disaster Declaration in Colorado due to the severe storms and floods. The counties currently included in the disaster declaration are:

  • Adams
  • Arapahoe
  • Boulder
  • Clear Creek
  • El Paso
  • Fremont
  • Jefferson
  • Larimer
  • Logan
  • Morgan
  • Weld

Many employers in the impacted regions experienced damage to or complete loss of their business. To provide some temporary relief, the Unemployment Insurance Division is offering an extension to the due date to file and pay your third quarter premium/wage report to November 30, 2013. This extension means late penalties and/or interest normally accrued will be waived, as long as the premium/wage report for the third quarter report is filed and paid by November 30, 2013, as appropriate. If your business is located outside of the covered disaster areas but your records are maintained within the disaster area, please contact us to discuss an extension, as these requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

If you have additional questions or require an extension to file and/or pay your premium/wage report, please call 303-318-9100 (Denver-metro area) or 1-800-480-8299 (outside Denver-metro area).
