Step 4: Work-Search Log

Work-Search Requirements

  • You must be registered and active in Connecting Colorado
  • You must be physically and mentally able to do the work you are seeking
  • You must be available for work
    • Available for job interviews and job offers
    • Have no barriers to your availability such as travel or child-care restrictions
  • You must search for suitable work
    • Seeking work that is appropriate for your skill level
    • Seeking jobs you would accept if offered the position
  • You must be actively seeking work
    • Applying for your required number of job contacts each week

Work-Search Log

You are required to maintain a work-search log of your weekly job contacts for two years from the start of your unemployment claim, for all weeks that you request payment. Complete all the fields within the work-search log. Remember to meet or exceed the number of assigned weekly job contacts.

The workforce centers will ask you bring a copy of the last 6 weeks of fully completed work-search logs to your one-on-one appointment, based on the date that you filed a claim for EUC.

Work-Search Log

We may conduct an audit of your claim at any time. You may be asked to provide your work-search log. If you are unable to produce the log with all requirements, you may not be eligible for benefits. Workforce centers will not maintain any copies of your work-search log after it has been reviewed during the one-on-one appointment. Please refer to Your Guide to Unemployment Benefits for additional information about completing the work-search log.


Making Your Job Contacts

  • Try to get the name of the person you spoke to about a contact
  • Try to talk with those in charge of hiring decisions
  • Contacts made to employers who are not hiring should only be included on the work-search log one time
  • A job interview can be included as a contact on your work-search log

 


If you do not have a scheduled appointment after a week of your initial notification of these new requirements, contact your local workforce center.
