The Public Records Center maintains and updates the website that provides the public with information on the number, sources and causes of underground and aboveground petroleum storage tank leaks and spills in Colorado, the record of compliance by location and data on the number of equipment failures. Seventy percent of the Public Records Center's records are stored electronically and are available to the public through our document imaging tool for both on-site and off-site review. More information about records reviews is available on the File Review Information page.
The Public Records Center will maintain public records related to the the Division of Oil and Public Safety in an electronic format for an indefinite amount of time. Once hard copy paper is scanned and saved in an electronic format, the Division will dispose of the paper in an appropriate fashion (sensitive documents will be shredded). Any questions related to the Division's record retention policy can be directed to Peggy Christian at firstname.lastname@example.org.
