Effective January 1, 2007, the Colorado employment verification law (§ 8-2-122, C.R.S.) requires private and public employers to retain an affirmation and copies of an employee’s identity and employment authorization documents for employment eligibility purposes.
Colorado immigration and employment law (§ 8-17.5-101 & 102, C.R.S.) effective August 7, 2006 applies to contractors who enter into or renew public contracts for services with a state agency or political subdivision.
