The Southwest Workforce Investment Board is business-led with a majority of its members representing the private sector and other board members representing organized labor and community-based organizations, education, economic development organizations and state agencies and individuals with disabilities. Services are provided by the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment and in partnership with the Southern Ute Community Action Programs, Inc. and The Training Advantage
The Board is representative of the local area in which is serves Archuleta, Dolores, La Plata, Montezuma and San Juan counties. A member from each local Workforce Investment Board represents the local region’s need on the Colorado Rural Workforce Investment Board.
As of June 2012, the Southwest region has assisted 71% of the region’s job seekers to find employment at an average wage of $13.04 per hour. (9002 Report)
