A Health Care Services Trainee I provides personal care and training to people with developmental disabilities and mental illness who currently live in State of Colorado operated intermediate care facilities and group homes in the GJRC community. Trainees will complete a 13-week paid Licensed Psychiatric Technician training program that is fully accredited by the Colorado State Board of Nursing. Graduates of this program will be promoted to Health Care Services Trainee II and will be eligible to take the LPT licensing exam offered by the Colorado State Board of Nursing. After passing the state board exam and completing 6 months of satisfactory work experience, staff will be promoted to a Health Care Technician I.
