Non-Integrated Work Services

Current federal Medicaid requirements prohibit the use of Medicaid funds in the support of sheltered work (NIWS). Per the memo dated April 6, 2009, the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) initiated a workgroup to review service options for persons receiving Non-Integrated Work Services (NIWS).
