The division is comprised of the following work units: Human Resources, Center for Equal Opportunity and Risk Management and the Employment Background Investigation Unit.
The Human Resources Unit provides comprehensive technical and consultive services in the areas of personnel management, employee benefits, and workers compensation.
The Center for Equal Opportunity and Risk Management provides consultive and investigative services for employment related civil rights and services regarding the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). This unit also provides consultation on client civil rights across the various CDHS program and county services lines. Risk Management provides consultation and management assistance in meeting the department's mandatory safety program requirements as well as in the development of unique business based injury prevention programs based on the specific needs of the various agencies within CDHS. They also serve as the liaison to State Risk Management.
The Employment Background Investigation Unit conducts background checks for state employees and/or contracting employees who will have direct contact with vulnerable persons receiving services from the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS).
