OFFICE OF ADMINISTRATIVE SOLUTIONS
The Office of Administrative Solutions went all out this year for the annual Combined Campaign.Our team donated more than $10,000 and had a participation rate of 41%. Special thanks goes to the Facilities and Accounting groups for their extra efforts in the Chili Cook-Offs and the Waffle Fest. Kudos to Brad Membel and Dennis Buck for taking the challenge that if the participation rate reached their goal they would dye their hair blue and orange, respectively, for a day!
The Human Services Building at 1575 is getting a "warm" makeover with a new lobby design and colors throughout the building, making a more pleasant experience for our employees and visitors. We have also created a new room for our Lactating Mothers to go for some privacy. Please contact Deb Robinson in APU at ext. 5062 for information.
Division of Accounting
The Accounting Division provides an open travel forum periodically to employees and supervisors as policies or new information becomes available.The forum addresses the understanding of Department travel policy, the proper use of travel related forms, the accurate coding of travel expenditures, the requirement for supporting documentation, the completion of reimbursement requests, and the responsibilities of reviewers/approvers.The forum provides help and answers travel related questions and concerns.
Division of Contracts Management
Reports, Reports, Reports! Preparations for the second round of official reports to be generated from the CMS system to be submitted to the Legislature are underway. Contract Management is working hard with CMS users throughout the Department to get our data cleaned up and ready to go.
Contract Management Certification Training Course: After rave reviews on our last 2-day Contract Management Certification Course, and several requests from new people wanting to take it, Contract Management is in the process of preparing for our next course. Watch your Contract User Group emails for more details!
Division of Facilities Management
The Mountview Youth Service Center had two major projects going on almost simultaneously this past month as during the replacement of the emergency fire alarm system was happening, there was a major water main failure. But thanks to the dedicated team both problems are now fixed.
A luncheon was held for the Southern District management staff to thank them for replacing the main electrical panel at Homelake SVNH, a much needed repair.
The Rifle State Veteran's Nursing Home is having two new nurse's stations designed for both floors, a very welcome improvement.
Just a reminder: All new employees must receive HIPAA training within 60 days of your starting date.
Division of Procurement
The Division of Procurement, in partnership with the State Controller's Office, and DHS Accounting for the development and replacement of COFRS, and Colorado's next generation Purchase to Pay Financial Reporting System. The development, training, and implementation are planned for July 1, 2014.
