The Colorado Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (CCDHH), an agency under the Division of Boards and Commissions of the Department of Human Services, exists to advance access to services and programs for deaf and hard of hearing Coloradans and to educate the public about the linguistic and cultural uniqueness of this population.

  • System Level Advocacy

Studies are conducted to make recommendations to the community, service providers, governmental agencies, private entities, and general assembly regarding any action that may facilitate and streamline the provision of community-based and general governmental services to the deaf and hard of hearing community.

  • Telecommunications Equipment Distribution Program (TEDP)

TEDP provides telecommunications access by supplying equipment to deaf and hard of hearing citizens who qualify.

  • Legal Auxiliary Services

This program is charged with the coordination of auxiliary services, sign language interpreters and communication access real-time translation (CART) providers and oversees quality standards and credentialing of service providers for legal proceedings in the State Court System.

  • Grant Program

This program provides funding for local government, state agencies, state-operated programs, or private not-for-profit community-based organizations to address the needs of Colorado’s deaf and hard of hearing community.
