The Human Resources Unit provides a full range of personnel services to CDHS managers, supervisors, and employees such as recruitment and selection services to CDHS job applicants. Services include the creation and job evaluation of CDHS positions; the recruitment and examination of job applicants; and the creation of eligible lists for hiring/promotional decisions. The unit provides consultation services to appointing authorities and employees regarding personnel system rules, employee performance, employer/employee relations, and in matters pertaining to employee discipline and employer/employee disputes. The unit creates and maintains the official personnel records for positions and employees and creates and maintains automated and manual data systems to track and monitor services. The unit works collaboratively with payroll to ensure proper and timely compensation of CDHS employees.
 

 

The unit also develops policies, procedures, supports services and training related to Employee Benefits and Worker's Compensation Liability Insurance.

 


Staff are available to assist employees in obtaining all appropriate entitlements and are available to appointing authorities, supervisors and decision makers regarding the expectations of CDHS policies and related state and federal mandates. In addition, staff provides support and/or representation in program related situations such as, but not limited to, litigation, entitlement disputes, audits, and compliance surveys.
