A subcommittee of the HSC was formed to focus on strategic planning for a public awareness campaign to launch the State's new child abuse reporting hotline and raise public awareness of the need to report all concerns of suspected abuse and neglect of a child or teen.
The public awareness campaign will begin when the anticipated centralized hotline for reporting child abuse and neglect goes live in 2015. In the meantime, CDHS will continue to expand and strengthen existing public awareness efforts by helping to coordinate and collaborate with all stakeholders actively working in Colorado to prevent and raise awareness of child abuse and neglect.
The Hotline Steering Committee will meet from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and the Public Awareness Subcommittee will meet from 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm on the fourth Friday of every month beginning February 28, 2014. Smaller work group meetings may be held on the second Friday of the month as needed.
