• The National Resource Center for Health and Safety in Child Care and Early Education’s “Use of Water and 100% Juice” Toolkit is now available at http://nrckids.org/ToolKit/WaterJuiceToolkitCombined.pdf. Tailored to specific audiences (licensing agencies, child care providers, and legislators), each action sheet within the toolkit provides tips, facts, and suggestions to promote the use of water and 100% juice for the children entrusted to our care.

• Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Child Care provided
  The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Healthy Child Care America is pleased to announce the release of a new online module on Reducing the Risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) in Child Care! Based off of the AAP Reducing the Risk of SIDS in Child Care Speakers Kit, this FREE course is designed to educate everyone who cares for babies, including child care providers, health care professionals, parents, grandparents, and relatives.

  Information regarding Colorado's voluntary Early Childhood Professional Credential may be obtained by visiting the Office of Professional Development website or by calling 303-866-3623.

Please contact one of the Department of Human Services Approved Pre-Licensing Vendors. For potential Family Child Care Home Providers, this training must be completed prior to the initial licensing visit.

• First Aid and CPR Training 
  Please contact one of the Department of Human Services Approved First Aid and CPR Vendors. For potential Family Child Care Home Providers, this training must be completed prior to the initial licensing visit.
  
  
• Medication Administration Training
  • Centers, Family Child Care Home Providers, Less Than 24-hour  - Please contact Qualistar Colorado at 303-339-6800 or visit the Medication Administration Program website for additional information and a list of instructors.
  • 24-Hour Facilities - please contact the Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division (HFEMSD) at 303-692-2800 or visit the CDPHE Medication Administration Program Website for additional information and a list of instructors.
    
    
• Universal Precautions Training 
  Please contact one of the Department of Human Services Approved Universal Precautions Vendors. For potential Family Child Care Home Providers, this training must be completed prior to the initial licensing visit.
  
   
• Immunization Requirements Training
  The Colorado Immunization Program is now offering a new course covering immunization requirements.
  • The course will count towards 2.5 contact hours, it will count towards 2.5 training hours.
