The Psychology Department at CMHIFL consists of doctoral-level psychologists and pre-doctoral interns. All staff psychologists are licensed in the State of Colorado. Each treatment team has a full-time or part-time psychologist. The team psychologists are responsible for performing legally mandated evaluations, including evaluations of all persons admitted to the hospital on 72-hour mental health holds or other involuntary statuses. The purpose of these evaluations is to determine the need for inpatient treatment, as well as whether such treatment should occur on a voluntary or involuntary basis. The psychologists also provide testing / assessment including in the areas of dangerousness, neuropsychology, diagnostic clarification and behavioral management planning. They provide clinical consultation to the multidisciplinary treatment teams, as well as treatment in a variety of modalities.
