Creating access to quality mental health and substance abuse services to enhance recovery and resilience in our communities.
We envision health and wellness in our communities.
Colorado West Regional Mental Health, Inc. is a private, non-profit corporation founded in 1970 to provide outpatient mental health services to the residents of Western Colorado.
We employ over 300 full and part-time staff and volunteers in our ten county service area. Together with Southwest and Midwestern Colorado Mental Health Centers, we are partners in West Slope Casa, the largest provider of behavioral health services in Western Colorado.
Our goal for the Colorado West Regional Mental Health CJCS program is to provide referred clients the mental health treatment they need. Our program provides a diagnostic evaluation, treatment recommendations, case management, and providing the client with any additional resources they may need to succeed.
The target population for the CJCS program is adult offenders with a history or suspicion of mental illness. We work closely with the 9th Judicial Branch, Community Corrections, and Garfield County Sheriff’s Department. These agencies determine the need for a mental health evaluation and forward a referral to the Criminal Justice Clinical Specialist.
Our intended outcome includes reducing the recidivism rate of clients with mental illnesses by providing them with treatment appropriate for them. In addition, we would like to increase safety in our community.
