Citizens Fire Academy

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a Firefighter?

Have you ever wondered how the fire department works and why?

How would you react if there is a fire or another emergency in your home or work place?

The Citizen’s Fire Academy will be held over two weekend days in May 2013 and there is not a cost associated with this academy. This academy will not certify you as a firefighter, but it will give you a better understanding of the Fire District and the firefighter’s job and responsibilities. Participants will be taught fire safety and prevention, firefighting tactics, and many other related topics. The knowledge you will gain from the classroom will be extensive. This program will not be just a classroom lecture for the two days, but an interactive, hands on, fire academy that will allow participants of our community to experience what firefighters experience every day while serving and protecting their community.

The Citizen’s Fire Academy is limited to 20 participants and will be filled on a first come first serve basis, so please sign up early.

If interested in participating, or to sign up, please contact Tyler Everitt at (303) 659-4101.
