Thank you for visiting the website of the Brighton Fire Rescue District. This site has been designed and will be maintained to provide as much information as possible about the fire district and the current events.
The Brighton Fire Rescue District is located northeast of the City of Denver and serves an area of 150 square miles. Included within our area is the City of Brighton, Town of Wattenberg, part of the City of Commerce City, and parts of the Towns of Henderson and Lochbuie. In addition, our area includes large unincorporated areas of Adams and Weld counties. The population of the district is about 50,000.
The fire department serving this area was created in 1888. Its history is rich with the dedication and service of volunteer firefighters. Today the district is a mostly career department. A small staff of reserve firefighters continues the 125 year volunteer tradition.
The district handles about 4,500 emergency incidents each year, providing emergency medical, rescue, firefighting, and safety/prevention services. Our district is unique, as it consists of urbanized, suburban, and rural areas. Our personnel must be trained in high rise fires as well as horse rescues, and everything in between.
The men and women of the district are highly trained professionals who are proud to serve their community. Our mission, our vision of the future, and our values are centered on providing the most efficient and effective service possible.
Let us know if we can be of service to you. Call us with a comment or a suggestion. We are here to serve you!
