About Brighton Fire Rescue District

Brighton Fire Rescue District is a full-service, all-hazard, fire and rescue agency. Brighton Fire Rescue District (BFRD) was established in 1888.

 

Service Areas

Brighton Fire Rescue District is a special district government agency providing fire and rescue services to approximately 50,000 people. We serve the following areas:
-City of Brighton
-Towns of Lochbuie, Wattenberg and Henderson
-Parts of the city of Commerce City.
-Parts of unincorporated Adams County and Weld County

 

Staff
Brighton Fire Rescue District has fifty-fivefull-time firefighters who staff five stations, fifteen reserve firefighters, four administrative chief staff and six civilian staff members. Brighton Fire Rescue's district covers more than 150 square miles. Brighton Fire Rescue Firefighters work a modified Berkeley shift schedule. Under this schedule there are 3 shifts, each shift works three 24-hours shifts in a 5-day period followed by 4-days off.
