Donna Marshall, MBA

Donna Marshall is the Executive Director of the Colorado Business Group on Health (CBGH), and has served in that capacity since 1996. The coalition has 22 public and private sector members with over 200,000 covered lives in Colorado.  Contributions include:

  • An annual production of the Health Matters Quality Report, featuring health plan and hospital data. Over 24,000 will be distributed to employers and employees in 2006.
  • Founding member and on the Board of the Colorado Clinical Guidelines Collaborative (1997 to present),
  • Member of the National Committee for Quality Assurance¿s Purchasers' Advisory Committee (1997 to 2006),
  • Founding member and on the Board of the Colorado Patient Safety Coalition (2001 to present),
  • Leapfrog Group Rollout Region Director for Colorado (2002 to present),
  • Key role in creating the impetus for publishing Colorado hospital specific mortality rates in 2005, and
  • One of the first business coalitions in the country to initiate a Bridges to Excellence "pay for performance" project in 2006.

Prior to joining CBGH, Donna was Manager, Managed Care Services for the State of Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, Medicaid Division, where she directed all activities associated with the Primary Care Physician Program, the Drug Utilization Review Program and health plan contracts including procurement, negotiation, rate setting, enrollment and systems implementation issues, oversight and conformity with state and Federal statutes and regulations.

Donna has a BS in Nursing from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and a BA in Psychology from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She received an MBA with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Colorado in Denver.
