How do I know what my state's regulations are?

What needs to be on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI)?

All livestock listed on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection shall comply with vaccination, testing and official animal identification requirements.

Are there exceptions to obtaining a CVI?

The following scenarios do not require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection:

  • Livestock shipments direct to a federally inspected slaughter plant and accompanied by a Bill of Lading
  • Livestock imports direct to a Colorado licensed livestock market from a farm of origin (Such imports shall not include 'trader' livestock)
  • Exemptions from Certificate of Veterinary Inspection for import into Colorado to licensed livestock markets are only applicable from states with free regulatory disease statuses
