Due to changes in USDA funding the RMRAHL will be changing the way in which it handles Brucellosis samples.  The biggest change will be that samples submitted for any other disease will not automatically be screened for Brucellosis. If you need Brucellosis testing it will need to be specifically requested and there will be a small charge per sample.  Also beginning October 1st  we will be discontinuing our RAP, Rivanol, STT and CF tests.

 Brucellosis samples  $4.00
 Pseudorabies gb1 ELISA  $4.00
  B. melitensis Card Test   $4.00

As always if your samples need a test we do not provide we will be more than happy to refer your sample to the correct laboratory.  If you have any questions about the changes please call us at 303.477.0049.  Thank you for your continued business and support.

RMRAHL is now proud to offer pooled Trich InPouch testing.  The cost is $6.00 per sample.  You will still need to collect the individual samples in InPouches as the pools consisting of 5 samples will be done at the lab. Please note, if any of the pooled samples are found to be positive, PCR will need to be done on each of the five individual samples at a cost of $25.00 per sample.

If using pooled PCR and traveling out of state, please make sure the state to which you are traveling accepts pooled Trich PCR samples.

New Trich Submission Procedures

  • Any InPouch samples requesting culture must be received within 48 hours of collection.
  • Any InPouch samples requesting PCR or Pooled PCR must be received within 72 hours of collection
  • Lactated Ringers (LRS) samples can now be sent via UPS or FedEx as long as they arrive within 24 hours of collection.  The LRS will be transferred to an InPouch upon arrival. The cost of culture, including an InPouch, is $9.00.  RMRAHL cautiously advises the use of LRS only in emergency situations.
