The Animal Health Lab is an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory that provides fast and accurate lab results. We offer testing services for 16 different diseases including Brucellosis, Johne's, Trichomoniasis, BVD, Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA), and Scrapie Genetic Susceptibility.

2011-2012 Trich Tags Just a reminder that trich tag colors change over starting October 1, 2011. This years color is White. Any White tags you have purchased in previous years can be used beginning in October. Call 303.477.0049 now to get your trich tags and pouches ordered before the season gets too busy.

Pooled Trich PCR RMRAHL offers pooled Trich InPouch testing. The cost is $6.00 per sample. You will still need to collect the individual samples in InPouches as the pools consisting of 5 samples will be done at the lab. Please note, if any of the pooled samples are found to be positive, PCR will need to be done on each of the five individual samples at a cost of $25.00 per sample. If using pooled PCR and traveling out of state, please make sure the state to which you are traveling accepts pooled Trich PCR samples.

Trich Submission RequirementsAny Trich InPouch samples requesting culture must be received within 48 hours of collection. Any Trich InPouch samples requesting PCR or Pooled PCR must be received within 72 hours of collectionLactated Ringers (LRS) samples can now be sent via UPS or FedEx as long as they arrive within 24 hours of collection. The LRS will be transferred to an InPouch upon arrival. The cost of culture, including an InPouch, is $9.00. RMRAHL cautiously advises the use of LRS only in emergency situations. You may use an expired pouch for transport media but the pouches must arrive within 24 hours to be valid for testing. The sample will be transferred to a new pouch upon arrivial. You will be charged $9.00 for you culture samples.

With online EIA submssions available through USDA's Veterinary Services you can have results as soon as the testing is finished and you no longer have to wait for the mail to deliver your originals.
