Anhydrous Ammonia

Complete the following steps for Anhydrous Ammonia registration in Colorado:

 

1. Site Approval
 

  • Your site must first be approved for anhydrous ammonia. Contact your local jurisdiction having authority and obtain written approval of your site. Your local jurisdiction can be your:
  • City Government

  • County Government

  • Municipality or

  • Fire District

 

  • On an 8.5 x 11 standard piece of paper, draw the proposed site. Include:
  • All adjacent property lines

  • Main railroad lines

  • Dedicated road right-of-ways

  • Dug wells or potable water supplies

  • Occupied buildings

  • Places of public assembly and

  • Institution occupancy (such as schools, nursing homes, hospitals, etc.)

 

  •  Send your local jurisdiction site approval, site drawing and a completed Application for Approval of Anhydrous Ammonia Site, along with an Anhydrous Ammonia Site & Tank Registration to our Cashier's Office. The  site approval application will only need to be filled out once, and there is no fee.

 

  • Written site approval from the Colorado Department of Agriculture must be obtained before installation of an Anhydrous Ammonia facility can begin. The facility must have a final inspection by the Department prior to being filled, charged or operated. Contact Pat Johnson with any questions.

 

2. Site Registration


 

All new applicants must fill out an Anhydrous Ammonia Site & Tank Registration application and an Application for Approval of Anhydrous Ammonia Site, and mail them to our Cashier's Office with the appropriate fees.

  • The annual registration period will be changing to January 1 - December 31, effective January 1, 2009. All new registrations submitted in 2008 will be effective until December 31, 2008, and all current registrations have been extended until December 31, 2008.

 

  • The site registration fee is $125.00. The nurse/applicator tank fee is $5.00 per tank.

 

  • Site registrations must be renewed annually. All subsequent renewal applications will be mailed to you from our office.
