Due to the popularity of hybrid gas/electric vehicles and the difficulty of obtaining accurate comparison information with the most similar vehicle, the Department of Revenue has worked with the manufacturers of these vehicles to determine the credit available for each vehicle. This information is available in FYI Income 9.
The information provided is for new vehicles only. The purchase of a used vehicle will generally not qualify for the alternative fuel vehicle because the credit may only be claimed one time per vehicle.
