WINN Grant Program

The Water Quality Control Division of CDPHE works with local public health agencies and counties to implement the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation (WIIN) Act. The program aims to test for lead in drinking water at eligible schools and child care facilities. The funding is available to local health agencies to administer this program within their jurisdictions.

Alongside the WIIN program, CDPHE is also directing the Test & Fix Water for Kids program in response to a new Colorado law. This law requires that child care centers, family child care homes and schools serving grades preschool through fifth test drinking water for lead by May 31, 2023.

If you work in a school or child care program that is looking for more information on lead testing requirements, please go to the Test & Fix webpage.

Public health agency workers who are interested in applying for the WIIN program to help schools and child care programs with lead testing, please email cdphe_wqcd_lead_grant@state.co.us.
