Governor Ritter has proclaimed July 12-18, 2009, as Colorado Weed Awareness Week.  Noxious weeds interfere with Colorado's precious water and land; these aggressive, non-native plants are changing our landscape and the ability to manage it.

CDA's Noxious Weed Management Program works to prevent the introduction on new, invasive plant species while controlling or eradicating those weeds already in our state.  Awareness of weed infestations in the state is growing, but we must continue to educate the public and land managers if we are going to protect our natural resources.

Take an active role in this year's Weed Awareness Week-whether you have 5,000 acres or a quarter of an acre, it is important to inspect your  land for noxious weeds. It is essential for all Colorado communities and landowners to work toward common weed control objectives if we are to succeed at protecting and restoring Colorado's productive agricultural lands and natural ecosystems.
