About the Commission
Steven Summer Steven recently relocated to Colorado from West Virginia to serve as President and CEO of the Colorado Health and Hospital Association. The Colorado Health and Hospital Association and its affiliated organizations have a consolidated annual operating budget of over $4 million and 23 full time employees; membership consists of 81 hospitals and health systems. The Association¿s mission is to lead, support, represent, and advocate on behalf of hospitals and health systems to achieve improved health status of all Colorado residents. Steven previously served as President and CEO of the West Virginia Hospital Association and as Senior Vice President of the Maryland Hospital Association. In these roles he managed patient care matters, licensing and accreditation issues, nursing and allied health, professional liability insurance, and shared service programs. He prepared legislation and presented testimony on a variety of state and federal regulatory, legislative, and related issues. Steven received his MBA in Health Care Administration from George Washington University and his BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University He serves as Diplomat for the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served as Adjunct Faculty in Health Services Management at West Virginia University and as a Senior Associate at the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health.
