About the Commission
Allan Jensen Allan Jensen is an independent broker of health, life and senior products. He has been in the insurance business in Colorado for 15 years. In his health practice, Jensen specializes in individual and small group products, representing over two dozen carriers and well over 500 plan designs. In recent years Jensen has begun to branch off into Medicare products and long term care insurance. Mr Jensen is a 1974 graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, majoring in life sciences, and he earned his Masters of Public Administration in 1979 from the University of Colorado, with a focus on public and private finance policy. During his Air Force career, Jensen worked in the field of space systems operations. Prior to entering the insurance field, Jensen was involved in the land development and home building business for 12 years. Mr Jensen has been involved in legislative policy matters in various forums for several years, and currently serves as the Legislative Committee Chair for the Colorado Association of Health Underwriters and is the Vice President of the Metro Denver Association of Health Underwriters. He has testified before the Colorado legislature and Congress on small business and individual health policy issues. In addition to the 208 Commission, he serves on the Benefits Advisory Committee seeking to craft an evidence based medicine option to the state basic plan. Allan Jensen has been married to Lisa Steiner for 11 years. They are the parents of a 6 year old daughter, Liesl.
